Medical Massage for Personal Injury
Medical Massage is not a general massage treatment. Rather, Medical Massage is applied as a manual therapy to the specific area and the primary pathology of the patient's chief complaint.
When massage therapy is considered medically necessary and prescribed by a physician, we can then look into billing your insurance to help cover most if not all of the cost of your sessions. We can also work with and directly bill your auto insurance if you were involved in an auto accident.
Each session will focus on the injured area and is goal oriented to improve the health of the patient and should be looked upon and treated as any other therapy (Physical Therapy, Rehab Therapy, ETC.) your physician would prescribe. Therefore it is not a general massage treatment for relaxation or wellness maintenance purposes; it is manual therapy applied to the specific area and the primary pathology of the patient's chief complaint.
Medical Massage:
-
Medical massage is result oriented and treatment is specifically directed to resolve conditions.
-
The massage varies greatly depending on the injury.
-
To truly be beneficial it requires a higher level of training.
-
Medical Massage treats ONLY the areas of the body related to the diagnosis and prescription.
-
The therapist may use a variety of therapies during the treatment. I currently use Neural Reset Therapy (NRT) & Neuromuscular Therapy (NMT) along with a few other treatments where clients have seen faster recovery and healing time compared to those who didn't follow through with their therapies.
